Ideas for doughnut came from simply drawing an interesting form. Form not so typical for waved bamboo products. I wanted to make a stool or a bench. The final appearance was a product of a collaboration beetween Ziqing, master Li, master Yu and I, challenging the material into a usable object.
The first model was slithly smaller, all in bamboo, but with lack of stability, so together we came to mind to mix metal and waved bamboo. We put the bamboo seating with storage on a slim metal frame giving the object lighter appearance.
